Schantz Haus Farm Vacation Bed & Breakfast

Schantz Haus is the Homestead of Joseph Schantz, (Johns), the Amish man who founded the city of Johnstown. The homestead is currently a working farm owned and operated by Bill and Jeanette Hunsberger and two of their sons. The farm sits on 120 acres of land providing woods, pasture, cropland and housing for eighty Black Angus, thirty bred Holstein cows and a few sheep, chickens and roosters. The farm is located in Davidsville, easily accessed off of Rt. 219 and close to other locations of historical significance. Station Inn Bed & Breakfast

The goal of The Station Inn is to provide comfortable lodging for rail enthusiasts. It has five two-room suites upstairs, downstairs there is a large three room suite and two smaller single rooms. All accommodations have private baths within the rooms. Mountain Chalet

There's ample parking at the chalet and you won't have to worry about forgetting to lock your car. A grill is provided on the deck with free fuel. An outdoor fire-ring, log benches and firewood are nearby. With the glare of urban nightlights conspicuously missing, the starry nighttime sky is a welcome treat for city dwellers. The chalet is non-smoking. Bed and bath linens as well as basic kitchen utensils, plates and cooking staples are furnished. Just bring your clothes and toiletries. Blacksmith Cottage

There is ample parking to the front of the cottage with direct access to Mt. Carmel Drive, a paved state road maintained by Ogle Township. The acre sized yard behind the cottage is surrounded by forest making a beautiful and spacious area to enjoy from the rear roofed deck and leads to our 1 ½ mile Kicky’s Ridge Trail. An outdoor fire ring and split firewood are located at a short, but safe distance from the rear deck.  The cottage is non-smoking. Bed and bath linens as well as basic kitchen utensils, plates and cooking staples are furnished. Just bring your clothes and toiletries. There is Verizon cell phone reception only.
