What is a CVB?

Convention and Visitors Bureaus operate as Tourism Promotion Agencies (TPAs): independent, non-profit organizations that work in support of an area's visitor industry. The goal of a CVB is to generate revenues through tourism from meetings, conventions, special events, attractions, and leisure travel. A CVB encourages the public to recognize their community as a tourism destination and reap the economic benefits tourism provides. [back to top]
