Hosted by: Charlie Barath Blues Band featuring Jimmy Adler
Welcome back to Johnstown two veterans of the International Blues Challenge, a past Flood City Music Festival performer, a 2018 Cambria City Ethnic Festival performer and a couple of Western PA’s finest Blues musicians!
If you’re a fan of Harmonica driven Classic Blues, the Charlie Barath Blues Band featuring Jimmy Adler is a “must-see”! Fronted by Charlie Barath, one of Western Pennsylvania’s top harmonica players, with the authentic guitar work of Pittsburgh’s very own Jimmy Adler and a rock-solid rhythm section comprised of Gerry Borish on Upright Bass and Dave Yoho on Drums, this band provides a big sound that is deeply rooted in the fabric of old school Blues!
Adler and Barath have been making music together both as a duo as well as in a band context since 2013, and it just keeps getting better! Backed by an always solid rhythm section, they know how to get the room jumpin’ from the first note. Whether it’s swinging dance rhythms or some low down, greasy blues, these guys will have your toes tappin’ and fingers snappin’ as they roll through their repertoire of Classic Blues, Swing and creative originals. They’ll be channeling the likes of Jimmy Reed, Otis Rush, Muddy Waters, Sonny Boy Williamson, Jimmy Rogers, Little Walter, Magic Sam and George Harmonica Smith, just to name a few!
