Heritage Hike:  Staple Bend Tunnel Hike

Join a Park Ranger on this nearly five mile round trip walk to the Staple Bend Tunnel. The Park Ranger will explain the history of the Staple Bend Tunnel, which was the first railroad tunnel in America. This would be a great way to learn about this hidden gem. Please dress appropriately, wear sturdy shoes, and bring some water and a snack. Hikers may wish to bring a flashlight to more fully explore the interior of the tunnel.

Reservations are required for this tour! Please call 814-886-6150 to sign up and learn more information including where to meet for the hike.
