Thunder in the Valley® Motorcycle Rally is proud to announce the 2017 entertainment headliners for the 20th annual rally.
Rock icons 38 Special will headline the concert on Saturday evening June 24 at 10:00PM.38 Special's breakthrough hit was "Hold On Loosely" (1981). "Caught Up in You" (1982) and "If I'd Been the One" (1984) both hit No. 1 on Billboard magazine's Album Rock Tracks chart. "Back Where You Belong" (1984) continued the annual sequence of radio favorites. In 1985 they had another hit with "Teacher Teacher", written by Jim Vallance and Bryan Adams. The song climbed to #4 on the Billboard Top Tracks Chart, spending 10 weeks on the chart from the soundtrack of the 1984 film Teachers. "Second Chance" was a No. 1 hit on Billboard's adult contemporary chart in 1989, from Rock & Roll Strategy, followed by "The Sound of Your Voice" in 1991 (Billboard Hot 100 #33) from Bone Against Steel and "Fade to Blue" from the album Resolution which made it to #33 on the Mainstream Rock chart in 1997. In 2007, 38 Special was the opening act on Lynyrd Skynyrd and Hank Williams Jr.'s Rowdy Frynds Tour, and on September 27, 2008, they filmed a CMT Crossroads special with country singer Trace Adkins, performing both artists' hits from over the years. In 2009, 38 Special opened for REO Speedwagon and Styx as part of the "Can't Stop Rockin' Tour." The concerts is Free, but premium view tickets are avaliable for purchase here. Cresson, PA native Josh Gallagher, who was a contestant on NBC’s ‘The Voice’, will perform Friday evening June 23. He recently performed at the Country Music Hall of Fame. To date, Josh has released two acoustic CDs and is currently in the studio working on completing his EP. Josh has had the opportunity to open for Randy Houser, Easton Corbin, Thompson Square, and Eric Paslay. Gallagher is no stranger to Thunder in the Valley®, having performed his acoustical act at the 2014 rally. Both concerts will take place at the Train Station Stage. The concerts are free to the public; however, Premium Viewing Area vouchers will be available in limited quantities for $15 person, per concert or $25 person for both concerts. Also returning to Thunder 2017 are the Budweiser Clydesdales! Anheuser-Busch’s Budweiser Clydesdales make hundreds of appearances each year. The Clydesdales are an enduring symbol of Budweiser’s heritage, tradition and commitment to quality. They never fail to draw a crowd wherever they go. This year marks the 84th anniversary of the Budweiser Clydesdales. The hitch team and red wagon will appear at various events during Thunder in the Valley including, The Grand Thunder Parade on Saturday June 24 at 12:00PM. They will be housed at Peoples Natural Gas Park June22nd-25th where visitors can interact with the hitch team.

Come taste a variety of beers, wines, and spirits at Thunder Fest, at the FJP Conference Center June 24th. This indoor/outdoor event will feature multiple breweries, distilleries and wineries. There will be a variety of other vendors as well. The Totally 80’s Band will perform from 2:00-6:00PM. The motorcycle stunt team ILLConduct will be returning to Thunder in the Valley 2017. ILLConduct puts on a mesmerizing show pushing the limits if motorcycle riding with mind blowing stunts, and performances. Visitors can come see the thrill packed show June 22nd -25th on Johns Street near Point Stadium, where they will perform multiple times per day!
Wall of Death
American Motor Drome Co. presents the Wall of Death from June 22nd-25that the Biker Mall. Here thrill seeking visitors can see a taste of tradition watching these daredevils on antique Indian and Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Visitors will be awed watching performers perform a variety of tricks and stunts all while on a 14 foot vertical wall! There will be multiple shows per day, so be sure not to miss this heart stopping event.
Free Ride In Bike show
Come join the fun on June 24thwith Cycle Source Magazine’s free ride in bike show! Registration will start at 12:00PM at Cycle Source Booth. There will be 18 class awards, consisting of various sponsor prizes and handmade trophies from BAAS Metalcraft, presented at 4:00PM following the show. All entrants will additionally receive a free Cycle Source magazine 20th anniversary patch.
ABATE Official Thunder Welcome Party
Cambria, Somerset & Westmoreland ABATES welcome you to start the party out right at the Official Welcome Party located at Greenhouse Park. Gates open at 11:00 AM June 22nd -24th. There will be a variety live music, tattoo artists, biker games, t-shirt contests and more! Motorcycle parking and admission is free! There will be adult beverages and entertainment, so only individuals 21 + will be allowed and ID’s will be checked.
Hot Nights/Cool Lights Night Parades
Help Thunder in The Valley light up the night with the Hot Nights/Cool Lights night parade June 22nd. Guest are welcomed to join the pre-party starting Quaker Steak and Lube on Scalp Ave. The party will be followed by a color filled light show of bikes illuminating the streets of downtown Johnstown starting at 9:30PM. Grand Thunder Parade
Welcoming family and friend of all ages, to The Grand Parade on June 24th at 12:00PM. This parade features a bike for everyone to enjoy, showing an array of vintage to custom motorcycles in the parades fleet. The parade will kick off at Point Stadium and commence down Main Street for all to see.
Ebensburg Wheels and Wings
If you like cars, trucks, bikes and wings this is the place for you! Come join us on June 22nd to see a vast array of vehicles, all while enjoying the best wings around. Additionally there will be live music provided by the Michael Christopher Band from 6-9:30PM. Registration starts at 4:30PM and the wing off lasts from 5-10:00PM so come hungry. Get ready to get “Countrified” with the high energy country rock band The Stickers. This band has been making their mark on country music by producing two country top 40 singles! Jasmine Cain will be returning to Thunder in the Valley to rock the stage all weekend! This rocker has been one of the driving forces for women in the motorcycle culture throughout the years. Jasmine Cain is the current not only the current holder of the NIMA Artist of the Year Award, but additionally was named the NIMA Rock Band of the Year!
