The 2008-2009 edition of the official Johnstown & Cambria County Visitors Guide is now available through the Johnstown Convention and Visitors Bureau. The 72-page, full-color publication features details on area attractions, recreation, events, lodging, dining, shopping, meeting facilities, and other community services.
“The guide is a great source of information about the community for both visitors and residents,” says Lisa Rager, executive director of the convention and visitors bureau. “If someone is planning a wedding or reunion, conference, or other gathering for friends, relatives, or business associates from out of town, the guide will inform them of almost everything there is to see and do while they’re here.”
Eighty thousand copies of the guide are printed, and will be heavily distributed nationally, regionally and locally. “We mail a copy with every request we receive for visitor information through our toll-free number and website, as well as from the advertising leads we receive from publications in which we place ads,” Rager says. A minimum of 10,000 copies are also distributed through Pennsylvania’s welcome centers.
Businesses and residents are invited to contact the bureau for copies. Guides can be picked up at the bureau’s office at 416 Main Street in downtown Johnstown. They are packaged 50 to a case. Each case weighs approximately 20 lbs. Single copies are also available.
