The Stone Bridge Project: Johnstown's Stone Bridge is a seven arched bridge spanning the Conemaugh River and routes 403 & 56. It is a landmark in the city, and is well-known for its role in the Johnstown flood of 1889. With the support of federal and state government resources, Norfolk Southern Railroad (owners of the bridge), and local community members. Monies were recently raised to restore this historic bridge. The bridge was painted and a lighting system was installed. The bridge is lit each night at 7:30 PM
