Prince Gallitzin State Park: Registered snowmobiles may use the 20-mile trail network in Prince Gallitzin State Park, Patton. 814-674-1000
Laurel Ridge State Park: A trail system of over 70 miles is open daily after the end of the antlerless deer season in late December. The trail is located on state park and state forest lands. Southwest Region Game Lands, Pennsylvania Game Commission: State Game Land #42’s trail is 26 miles and encompasses Cambria, Somerset and Westmoreland counties. State Game Land #79’s trail is nine miles and is located in Cambria and Indiana counties. State Game Land #108’s trail is seven miles in Cambria County. Gallitzin State Forest provides 21 trail miles in Cambria and Somerset counties. www.pgc.state.pa.us

Lake Rowena in Ebensburg is stocked with adult trout both during the regular season and as part of the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission’s Winter Trout Program. While Duman and Glendale lakes also present ice fishing opportunities, Rowena traditionally is one of the first in the area to develop safe ice each winter. Laurel Ridge State Park: About 35 miles of trail are available for cross-country skiing. A free map is available from the park office. There is also a 20-mile cross-country ski touring concession adjacent to the Route 653 parking area. A fee is required to use this trail.
