Last-Minute Shopping Party

Thursday, December 19, 2019 - 6:00pm to 9:00pm

Shopping for loved ones can be stressful. To make the task a little more joyful, the Gallery Shoppe will extend operation hours for a fun last-minute shopping night 6-9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19. Celebrate your achievements with free music and light refreshments. Need help wrapping presents? Let the Bottle Works elves do all the dressing while you sing along to yuletide favorites on our “carol-oke” stage and play games. Guests can also participate in our holiday movie scavenger hunt. Throughout the Bottle Works main gallery, there will be references to many Christmas classics. Write that movie title on your scorecard. If you guess all the movies titles correctly, participants can draw a prize from Santa’s gift bag!

The kiddos can join in on the fun too. Holly Lees, youth education coordinator, will be offering fun activities and crafts for the Kids in our Winter Wonderland Workshop. Your little one can make custom cards, ornaments, and coasters. $5 per Child. Pre-registration is not necessary, but preferred.

Have A Scary Little Christmas

@ 8 PM

Join us in the Black Box Theater @ 8 PM. Michael Allison will guide us through the overlap between folkloric practices surrounding the ancient harvest and Yule celebrations, and today’s Christmas celebration. We will examine the reinsurance of characters like witches, Krampus, and other characters from folklore.

This talk is for a mature audience.

Light refreshments will be available.

A $5 donation is suggested to help support future folk arts programming.

This talk is brought to you by the Bottle Works-Folk Arts partner for the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.
