SUMMARY:"Consumed" & Allied Artists of Johnstown Fall Show
DESCRIPTION:“Consumed” is an immersive collection by Colleen Albright of sculpture\, drawing\, painting\, and mixed-media installation developed over the course of a year and a half. The exhibition confronts experiences that have occupied—and at times consumed—my inner life for more than a decade: anxiety\, isolation\, repetitive negative thoughts\, disordered relationships with food\, destructive patterns\, and the persistent feeling of being unworthy or unseen. Some of the imagery in Consumed is intentionally unsettling. \nThe Allied Artists of Johnstown are made up of nearly eighty talented artists from throughout the region\, each bringing their own unique skills to each and every exhibition. The Fall Exhibition will feature work from many of the AAJ members\, and their work will encompass a wide variety of mediums and subject matter. \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:Ride the Rails Tour
DESCRIPTION:Our full-day rail tour is back by popular demand! For the Ride the Rails Tour\, we’ll board Amtrak’s eastbound Pennsylvanian (#42) at the historic Johnstown Train Station and passing along the world-famous Horseshoe Curve as we enjoy the spectacular fall foliage on the way to Altoona. We’ll get on a bus with our expert docent\, Brian Lehman\, who will lead your tour through the Horseshoe Curve and the Railroaders Memorial Museum. In between\, we’ll stop at the Boyer Candy Factory\, and Baker Mansion. At the end of the day you’ll board the westbound Pennsylvanian (#43) back to Johnstown. Midday we will be stopping at Cracker Barrel for lunch (each guest pays on their own; lunch is not included in the ticket).

DESCRIPTION:This is a self-supported\, ride-at-your-own-pace event starting at the YPCC Ebensburg Trailhead. We’ll ride the full 35-mile loop and finish back where we started. (The loop itself is 32-miles\, but the extra ride to-and-from Ebensburg makes it 35-miles total!) Halloween themed colors\, makeup\, and costumes are encouraged — just make sure your costume doesn’t interfere with bike safety. Helmets are encouraged\, and a fun attitude is a must! After the ride\, we’ll all meet up for post-ride food and drinks at one of our favorite local spots\, Coal Country Brewing!

DESCRIPTION:The corn maze is a fun activity to welcome in the fall season. Enjoy the fresh air as you stroll through an actual home grown corn field. Weakland Farms’ corn maze is a mile and a half\, six acre field comprised of eight feet tall field corn. Paths\, which measure 48 inches wide\, are cut in the corn to complete a specified design. Stations with questions are hidden throughout the maze to provide a challenging yet fun experience. The questions are usually general knowledge\, simple enough for kids to answer. Allow yourself at least an hour to answer the questions\, complete the maze\, and enjoy the outdoor experience.
