Ohphelia w/ special guest Justin Giuffre & the Pilgrimage

Date:
Wednesday, January 12, 2022 - 7:00pm to 10:00pm

Hailing from Nashville, Tennessee, Ohphelia is a six-piece indie group composed of Lily Ophelia, Jack Foster, Cara Tilghman, Burton Fott, John Mark Reed, and Happy Haugen.

They’ve been playing together since middle school, but have known each other for much longer than that. While all are involved in different solo projects and other groups, Ohphelia is brought together by a shared love of jazz, interest in writers like Adrianne Lenker and Buck Meek, and a love for spending time together.

Lately, they’ve slowed down and taken a break from playing shows to settle in and work on their debut album, due out in early 2022. Recorded throughout the latter half of 2021, this album is for fans of Crumb, Big Thief, Mild High Club, and Babe Rainbow.

Johnstown’s own Justin Giuffre & the Pilgrimage will open the show. The band began as a modest offshoot of the established Americana bands Whiskey River Panhandlers and Striped Maple Hollow, well-known in the Johnstown region. Songwriter Justin Giuffre handles lead vocals and acoustic guitar, leaving Adam Milkovich to pick up the harmony while playing a mean mandolin.
