The Grand Halle Chamber Concert Series: The Aeolian Winds of Pittsburgh
Founded in 2003 by the original University of Pittsburgh Wind Quintet, the Aeolian Winds of Pittsburgh are a chamber group of wind instruments, including flute, oboe, clarinet, French horn, and bassoon. Though they will perform a variety of works at The Grand Halle such as original works, arrangements, pops, and Broadway tunes, the Aeolian Winds are particularly dedicated to commissioning, featuring, and performing works by American composers. These include composers such as Eric Ewazen, Stephen Foster, Herman Stein, Robert Muczynski, Aaron Copland, Leroy Anderson, and Peter Schickele.
