The Grand Halle Chamber Concert Series: The Red Line String Quartet
Featuring musicians such as the JSO’s Principal Violist Stephen Weiss and Associate Concertmaster Tobias Chisnall, the Red Line String Quartet is a Pittsburgh-based group who are devoted to sharing music with communities through performance, education, and outreach. Recently, they debuted their Turn album, featuring works written at the turn of the century by composers such as Franz Joseph Haydn, Philip Glass, and Alexander Borodin. Together, the quartet will perform dynamic works from the most famous composers in Classical, Romantic, and Modern music history, including:
· Five Fugues from the Well-Tempered Clavier, K. 405 by W.A. Mozart
· Strum by Jessie Montgomery
· String Quartet No. 2 in A Minor, Op. 51 by Johannes Brahms
