"The Spirit of Thanksgiving"

Date:
Sunday, November 20, 2016 - 4:00pm

The Grand Halle, 306 Broad St, Cambria City Cultural District, 15906

A new 30-voice choir will perform a concert of sacred music under the direction of Kim Rauch.  The choir will be singing the acclaimed cantata, "Our Father," written by Pepper Choplin - a series of pieces inspired by The Lord's Prayer; "Baba Yetu," a Swahili adaptation of The Lord's Prayer; and "Go Not Far From Me, Oh God," by Zingarelli.  The cantata ends with the rousing Thanksgiving hymn, "Now Thank We All Our God."   While new on Johnstown's choral musical scene, the Cambria City Chorus features a balanced group of seasoned vocalists, many of whom also perform with the Johnstown Symphony Chorus.  The group's accompanist is Robert Lacovic.

The Spirit of Thanksgiving Concert is being sponsored by Somerset Trust Company.  A reception will follow the performance.

Admission: $10/Adults; $5/Students

Tickets may be purchased at the door or at www.GrandHalle.com
