Goin' Nutty! A Native Nut Hike

Date:
Wednesday, October 26, 2022 - 5:00pm

As the weather cools and leaves start to change color, fall fruits begin to ripen and you start to hear the constant “thunk” of nuts falling from the trees to the forest floor, and squirrels begin to scurry around collecting them for their winter stores. Pennsylvania is home to a number of native trees that produce edible nuts. Come along on a ~1-mile hike as we see and talk about a few of these trees and how to identify them.

Meet at the Point Trailhead Parking Area.
