10/2/25 Update: Due to the federal government shutdown, the Visitor Center and buildings are closed to the public; however, the grounds and all trails remain open and available to tour and explore.

Enjoy a variety of activities within the park: bird watching, hiking, picnicking, cross-country skiing, interpretive programs, nature walks.

History buffs can trace the path of the Allegheny Portage Railroad on 12 miles of trails.

Winter Activities

Three to four miles of trail are described as “relatively easy terrain.” Weather permitting, park grounds, and trails are open daily sunrise to sunset.
