Celebrating the 54th Log House Arts Festival

Log House Arts Festival

The Community Arts Center of Cambria County (CACCC) will be holding its 54th Log House Arts Festival on Saturday, August 30th, and Sunday, August 31st, from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM both days. This year’s festival will once again be dedicated to the memory of the organization’s late Treasurer, ambassador, and devoted community leader, Elmer C. Laslo. The location of the 54th Log House Arts Festival sits on CACCC’s 2.4 scenic acres in the Westmont section of Johnstown, PA (1217 Menoher Boulevard, Johnstown, PA 15905).

The festival is one of the largest fundraising efforts that CACCC does each year, hosting between 9,000 – 11,000 local visitors and tourists annually. It is a special fundraising event geared toward any quality handcrafted and juried Artist/Craftsman willing to sell and/or demonstrate original work. This year’s festival features over 100 artisans and crafters and their diverse hand-crafted items of Jewelry, Pottery, Bronze, Florals, Rugs, Crafted Wood and Decor, Tole, Plants, Fabric Items, Handbags, Sweatshirts, Furniture, Steelers “Gear,” Metal Artwork, Slate Artwork, Soaps, Candles, Photography, Paintings, Wine, Distillery, and much more. Artisans and Craftspeople are juried and selected to create a balanced mix of crafts so that the festival represents a cross-section of arts and crafts, and fine arts. CACCC does not take commission from the craftsmen, and there is no admission fee/charge for the public to enter the festival grounds.

The “Kids’ Kingdom” section of the festival is dedicated to inspiring a creative arts and crafts environment of activities for children and youth. There is a large variety of arts and crafts activities, each activity requires a small fee for participation.

The Log House Arts Festival’s objective is to provide educational and cultural attractions to the community, as well as to give locals and tourists an ideal opportunity to purchase works of art, American-made, handcrafted items directly from craftsmen and artisans. The festival is highly publicized, and every year, CACCC tries hard to add new attractions, craft vendors, food, music, and entertainers.

Special feature: This year, there will be a Shuttle Bus through the Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center shuttle. Parking locations include the Hiram G. Andrews Center parking lot, located at 727 Goucher Street, Johnstown, and the Westmont Elementary School parking lot, located at 827 Diamond Boulevard, Johnstown. The Shuttle Bus will be on a continuous rotation to both parking lots all day, both days of the festival, from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM, August 30th & August 31st.

This year’s entertainers include the live music of The SharpTones for the entire day on Saturday, and Rosie & the Jammers on Sunday morning, with Meat & Potatoes to follow Sunday afternoon. There will be featured performing arts entertainment throughout the festival outdoors in the new Amphitheatre. Additionally, Iron City Aerial, an aerial silk and circus performance group from Pittsburgh, will be featured at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 30th, with a rain date performance on Sunday, August 31st, if needed. The Magician Richard Benninghoff will perform a magic show at 2:00 PM on both Saturday and Sunday in the Kids’ Kingdom. He will be strolling the property doing magic throughout the day as well.

Kids will have a BLAST at the 2025 Log House Arts Festival’s favorite spot for kids, “Kids’ Kingdom!” Kids’ Kingdom has activities for tiny tots through high school. They can use their creative energy to mix fun and art. Some of this year’s activities include the classic favorites of Spin Art, Paint-a-Pals, and Zanies, as well as brand new arts and crafts for a total of 10 activity stations! Razzle & Dazzle will be with us again for Face Painting and Balloon Twisting from Noon to 3:00 PM each day.

This year’s food vendors are Red’s Texas BBQ, Hot & Fresh Grill (Middle Eastern/American), Backwoods Kettle Corn, Kona Ice, Sutton’s Sweet Treats (Ice Cream Truck), Ultimate Stromboli Company, La Poco Diablo Tacos, and Mark’s Thai Taste.

Because of sponsors, craftsmen, and the public outpouring of support, this event makes up a portion of CACCC’s annual operational funds. This year’s supporting Corporate Sponsor is 1st Summit Bank; the Co-Sponsors are AmeriServ Financial, Somerset Trust Company, InFirst Bank, North American Höganäs, Co., Northwest Bank, Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown Material Handling, Milkie’s Lawn & Landscape, Ace Hardware, and Concurrent Technologies Corp. This year’s Kids’ Kingdom is sponsored by the Alan Gordon Fund. Many of these businesses have been the heart of sponsorship for the Log House Arts Festival for many decades!
