1st Summit Bank Johnstown PolkaFest to take place May 31-June 2, 2024, at Peoples Natural Gas Park

Johnstown, PA—The 26th annual 1st Summit Bank PolkaFest will take place this weekend, May 31-June 2, 2024. The event will be held at Peoples Natural Gas Park, located at 90 Johns St., downtown Johnstown.
The three-day festival kicks off Friday at 4 PM with bands performing from 5 PM-10 PM. On Saturday, the gates open at 12:30 PM with bands performing from 1:30 PM-11 PM. Sunday will begin with a Polka Mass by Father Crookston featuring the Don Wojtila Band. The gates will open at 11 AM and bands will conclude at 5 PM. Admission Friday and Saturday is $5, and Sunday is free.
PolkaFest features nationally known and award-winning Polka bands from throughout the country, as well as local favorites like Rosie and the Jammers and Johnstown Button Box. The lineup includes Polka Family Band; John Stevens Polka Band; Don Wojtila Band with special guests The Wojtila brothers Joe, Michael, and Dan; Lenny Gomulka & Chicago Push; The Garrett Tatano Band; and Polka Country Musicians. Polka DJ, Frank Powaski, is returning as emcee.
Bands will perform under the Polacek Pavilion in front of a 39×30-foot dance floor. The bands will alternate sets to provide non-stop Polish and Slovenian style Polka music all weekend. Limited seating will be available under the pavilion, but attendees are welcome to bring lawn chairs. The Pavilion and Oil House will provide plenty of shade.
Food and beverages will be available from vendors set up in the park and will include a variety of ethnic foods. The PolkaFest pub will serve beer and seltzers (Proper I.D. is required). All ages are welcome!
The annual event is held the first weekend after Memorial Day and has taken place since 1998. PolkaFest attracts an estimated 10,000 people from multiple states and the region, generating visitor spending during the event.
