The South Fork Historical Society’s mission is to preserve the historical legacy of South Fork and its people while creating opportunities that ensure a brighter future for the community. Their museum, a repurposed bank building built in 1903, contains myriad pictures and artifacts chronicling the town’s rich heritage, from the early days of the Allegheny Portage Railroad through 150 years as a thriving coal-producing community to its current role as an emerging center for conservation and outdoor recreation.
