Friday – May 16th
Along with the whitewater excitement, the first day of the event will feature a Downriver Race at 6 PM! This sprint race will cover a 3.5-mile stretch of pool drop whitewater (Class II+ – Class III) and begins at the Carpenter’s Park section of the Whitewater Park. The race is divided into categories based on the number of entrants and what kind of boats entered. Register for the race here! The evening after the race will feature live music by the Dave D Quartet from 8 PM – 11 PM. Paddle along to some great tunes to finish off the night!
Saturday – May 17th
Saturday will afford plenty of entertainment as well, with a Freestyle Rodeo taking place at 3 PM! If you aren’t familiar with this type of contest, you’re certainly in for a treat, it’s as fun to watch as it is to participate in, too! This friendly competition will be judged based on trick difficulty, variety of moves, and the style (how smooth you are!) The evening will feature the musical stylings of Thornbush ft. the Spinelli’s from 4 PM – 7 PM. The Hickory Bottom Band will wrap things up with their live performance from 8 PM – 11 PM. The First Waves program will also be debuting a film during the first set break of the second music group!
Sunday – May 18th
All good things must come to an end, but it’s important to make sure you leave the area better than you found it! Sunday features another all-day whitewater paddle session, with an afternoon cleanup.
