Rivers & Parks

Coal Tubin’

Coal Tubin’ is a rafting experience that allows you and your family to float down the Stonycreek River. They offer several adventures with different thrill levels that you are sure to enjoy. Tubes and rafts for these excursions are available to rent. They also offer bike rentals for trail adventures and a shuttle service that transports you and your equipment to your desired adventure destination. River Tubin’ is the perfect family activity for a hot day! Whitewater Tubin’, Inflatable Kayaking, and Whitewater Rafting are great if you are seeking a more daring thrill.

Prince Gallitzin State Park

You can cool off at Prince Gallitzin State Park while taking in the Allegheny Plateau’s beautiful landscape. Muskrat Beach is open to the public for swimming, and the park also has several amenities, like volleyball courts, disc golf, and picnic spots, near the swimming area.

Quemahoning Dam Reservoir

The Quemahoning Family Recreation Area is the place to find summer fun! It serves as a boat launch, full-service campground, and a recreational area perfect for fishing, swimming, and playing. You can rent canoes, kayaks, and paddle boards at The Yak Shak, or stop in for fishing bait and refreshing treats!

Ebensburg Borough Pool

If you’re looking to be poolside this summer, the Ebensburg Borough Pool is the place for you! All members of your party are sure to have a fun day in the sun here. The pool has several amenities that the whole family can enjoy! Multi-visit and season passes are available to purchase, and two pavilions are available to rent. They also offer swim lessons for children!

Nanty Glo Pool

The Nanty Glo Pool is the perfect place to find summer fun! You and your family are sure to enjoy the different amities that can be found in and around the pool area. Daily and season passes are available to purchase. Swim lessons are also offered throughout the pool season for children ages five and up.

Windber Recreation Pool

Make a splash at the Windber Recreation Pool this summer! Here, your friends and family of all ages can take a dip in the pool together. The pool includes slides for swimmers and a Splash Pad for the little ones to enjoy. Other amenities such as volleyball courts, tennis courts, a playground, and a skate park are located around the pool area. The pool offers walk-in daily passes as well as season passes. Be sure to keep an eye out for special events like Wings-N-Waves, Night Swims, and Movie Nights!

Delgrosso’s Amusement Park & Laguna Splash Water Park

A little further outside Cambria County, you’ll find Laguna Splash Water Park at Delgrosso’s Amusement Park. This Italian-themed water park will have you saying “buongiorno” to summer fun! Whether you’re looking to relax in the lazy river, ride the waves in the wave pool, or slide down the slides, Laguna Splash has you covered. Bring your family and friends along and beat the heat!

Shaded Trails & Waterfalls

Buttermilk Falls

Take a trip right outside Cambria County to Buttermilk Falls this summer! This waterfall is an extraordinary feat, as its scale is uncommon for western Pennsylvania. Although visitors cannot swim here, the site provides a chance for you to cool off in the shade of the trees as you look around at the scenic nature display. The observation deck also allows for a unique view of the flowing veil of water.
