Rusty Cat Cafe – Johnstown’s First Cat Cafe!

Visit a welcoming space for a delicious cup of coffee with a fluffy feline friend! Rusty Cat Cafe, located at 338 Walnut St., is Johnstown’s first cat cafe, featuring adoptable rescue cats.

Their story began when caring neighbors rescued 19 feral cats living behind their building. These cats were spayed, neutered, and fully vetted with the dedicated support from the current members of the Johnstown Animal Welfare Society (JAWS), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Thanks to a committed community effort, all these cats found loving homes.

The overall mission of this cozy cat cafe is best described by its owners, “The overpopulation of cats in the Johnstown area remains a significant challenge. Rusty Cat Cafe was created to address this by offering a relaxing environment where visitors can savor a cup of coffee or a pastry while spending time with friendly, adoptable cats. Our mission is twofold: to support the financial needs of local rescue efforts and to serve as an innovative adoption center that increases sheltered cats’ visibility in a cozy, inviting setting.”

Reservations are recommended as the cat room is limited to a set number of visitors at a time to keep the cats happy and healthy. Reservations can be made in advance here! Walk-ins are welcome, but availability may vary.
