Nestled in the heart of Cambria County, Ice skating on Lake Rowena in Ebensburg is a fantastic way to enjoy the cold. During the winter months, the lake transforms into a picturesque frozen wonderland, attracting skaters of all ages. With its serene surroundings, Lake Rowena offers a peaceful setting recreational skating. Located in the Northern section of Cambria County, Glendale Lake offers scenic skating opportunities! 1st Summit Arena @ Cambria County War Memorial hosts public skating opportunities during the Johnstown Tomahawks Season. Skate across the ice in the arena where the cult classic hockey Movie Slap Shot was filmed, you can also visit the Slap Shot Museum which is located in the hallway surrounding the ice rink.

North Central Recreation Center is the sister location of 1st Summit Arena in downtown Johnstown. This rink provides an indoor skating experience that the whole family will enjoy. They also offer stick time for hockey players, and skating classes.
